When's the last time you LOVED going on a Diet?

Apr 19, 2020

How many of you love going on a diet?

If you are like most people, then the word diet probably doesn’t make you happy and you probably have a long dieting history to go along with it.

Diets are the death of possibilities.

Think about it.  Does the idea of a diet make you happy?

No.

Perhaps the idea of having a body you LOVE makes you happy, but the truth is, the majority of the world, from supermodels to actors, moms to musicians, dads to artists, lawyers to doctors, teenagers to girls and boys, are not happy with something about their physical appearance,

Even Victoria Secret Supermodels have moments of struggling with their bodies.

“The world doesn’t need more diets.  The world needs to love the skin they’re in.” - Katherine McIntosh

If you asked 7 Billion People on the planet, if they would change something about their bodies, it would be a rare occurrence for someone to say they wouldn’t change anything.

When was the last time you were happy on a diet?

You might have been happy with the results, but the problem with most diets is that they are direction driven.  It includes restrictions, time calculations, calorie counting, food measuring, and JUDGMENT. You cannot be aware of what’s true for you when you are judging you.  If you have to judge you 24/7 and restrict everything, is that living?

Does that bring true joy?

Joy is only possible when you embrace how imperfect you are and actually love it. - Dr. Dain Heer

Diets paint this picture that if you follow the directions, restrict yourself, follow the protocol, you will get the results and you will be happy.

But how many people do you know where that has actually worked long term?

The truth is, diets are an action outside of the ordinary.  And if truth be told, in order for you to have true lasting happiness with your body and life, I believe there are a few special ingredients required.

One:  It needs to be something that you adapt as a part of your lifestyle.  Not just something you choose temporarily. It has to become a part of you and it has to be fun otherwise you won't stick with it.

Two:  It has to make you happy enough to invest your time, energy, and resources long term.  Your body is a long term commitment, not a short term relationship you can toss around.  Unfortunately, your body is stuck with you and every day it wakes up and desires to create with you.  Are you allowing it to create with you or are you waking up and judging it?

Three:  It has to be a commitment to long term living, not short term instant gratification.  Your body is stuck with you for life.  How do you want to treat it?

The problem with most diets is that they promise results as long as you follow a protocol, but that protocol rarely integrates easily into someone’s lifestyle.  It usually involves adapting, restricting, cutting, and sacrificing.

The diet sets up an unrealistic expectation that the only way to achieve desired results is if you starve, restrict, and sacrifice.  That is not long term living.

Your body is not a problem to be solved.  And if that is your sole purpose, you will miss out on living.

I cannot tell you the number of times I missed events, weddings, connecting with friends, following through on all of those insane business ideas, laughing, playing, creating and future building all because I was so consumed on how I was going to lose 10 pounds.

The amount of time I wasted researching the next fad that promised to deliver the results.  It was always under the guise that I promised to myself….

This time, it will be different.

This time, I will follow through.

This time…

Unfortunately for me, there was always a next time.  I was never one for taking the easy road and learned the hard way.  To the tune of over $250,000.

But I know I’m not alone.

The average American woman will spend over 30 years of her life on a diet, will go on an average of 8 diets a year, and will spend an average of $1,422 a year on diets.

Over 30 years, that’s over $42,000 in her lifetime…

On Diets.

Honestly, when I look at the number, that’s insane.  And to top it all off, that doesn’t include money spent on gym memberships, yoga studios, personal trainers, beauty products, exercise gimmicks, and so much more.

We are talking about good old diets.  The calorie counting, food restricting, protein measuring diets.

But here’s the challenge with diets: The world is waking up and finding ways to incorporate their individual needs, lifestyles, wants, and wishes.

Traditional diets do not take into consideration the individual's lifestyle habits, desires, dreams, aspirations, and already built-in food choices.

It just delivers a regimented protocol.

Newsflash: Losing weight is not a military boot camp experience.

What if there was another way?

The good news is...

There Is!

After 20+ years of struggling with my body, food, weight, and self-esteem, I found Access Consciousness®, tools and pragmatic resources that truly allowed me to create lasting change.  I never thought I would love my body (and I've been 96 lbs. and I've been 165lbs - not including my pregnancy).   But what I discovered is that if I let go of judgments, my body changed with such ease and grace... and it was FUN!!  I no longer felt wrong!  And for anyone who knows me, that is a miracle.

So if you can relate, or you're someone who is always looking to lose 5 - 10 pounds (2-5 kilos), it's about letting go of judgments.  I know it sounds simple, but food does not create your body.  Judgments (or lack of judgments) create your body.

There is hope out there for you.  But it won't be something you can find outside of you, you have to find it inside of you.   You have to go in and actually develop a relationship with your body where there is trust, respect, and communication.

Your body is a living breathing entity that desires to contribute to you for the rest of your life.  What if you actually started to ask it questions, engage with it, communicate with it, and listened to its needs?

It might sound a little cookey, but it's far more practical than spending thousands of dollars on diets that don't actually take YOU into consideration.

So next time you're tempted to want to go on a diet, maybe instead ask your body:

What foods would make you feel sexy?

What clothes would light your body up?

What movements would give you more energy?

Little by little you may just find yourself losing weight, eating the foods you love, feeling sexier, more vibrant, making more money, and so much more.

Oh and enjoying your life like you've never before experienced!

This is your body.  This is your life.  You are a walking talking miracle and your body is a gift.  What would it be like if you treated it as such?
